spring break officially started thursday afternoon, but i haven't left yet. i have been laying around ariccia (literally, in my bed watching friday night lights) recovering from the past 7 weeks of nonstop action. but i am very excited to finally get my spring break on!
tomorrow becca and i will be waking up early so that we can catch a train to check out a nondenominational church in rome. im really interested to see if they're anything like the ones in america. there are services in italian and english!
we'll then meet elizabeth, my roommate from auburn who is visiting her boyfriend who is studying in rome, to hang out for the day. im staying with elizabeth in rome tomorrow night so that im closer to the fiumicino airport for when jordon lands at 7am on monday!!
once i scoop up jordon at the airport, we plan on ducking our heads in to st. peter's basilica before we hit the road. we're taking a train to florence first.
florence, i love you
we're staying in florence for only one night because i know jordon isn't a big city guy and we can see a lot of the big things in one day. on tuesday we're hopping on a regional train to mugello where we're staying at this awesome bed and breakfast. a lot of my friends have already been and they said it was amazing. all meals but lunch are included, she will drive you anywhere (obviously within reason), and you can hike and horseback ride! apparently there are good outlets nearby, but we won't be going to those. i am looking forward to all of the outdoor activities they have around there. plus it's gorgeous!

we're spending 3 nights in mugello before we take a train to cinque terre. cinque terre is a sort of city i guess that is made up of 5 really small towns, hence cinque (five in italian) terre. we're staying in the town of riomaggiore. cinque terre is another outdoor hotspot that im pumped about. and it's on the water! you know how much i love water. there's great hiking and views here that we will be taking full advantage of. school just went here last weekend and they loved it so i can't wait to see all of it.
